Overton Lady Mustangs are Area Volleyball Champions after sweeping Linden Kildare today. The Lady Mustangs move to 34-7 on the year and own the single season record for wins. Next up the Lady Mustangs face Detroit in the Regional Quarter Finals at a place, day and time to be determined.

Mr. Kinney came dressed as Johnny Appleseed and read a book to the elementary students. We always enjoy his stories. Mr Kinney will return in November for a Thanksgiving themed book and again in December as the conductor of The Polar Express!!
Overton's Bryce Still, Rusk's Chance Washington, Chapel Hill's Aiden Campos and the Winnsboro offensive line are the Tyler Morning Telegraph Football Players of the Week.
Huge shoutout to Jayden Edwards!!! Jayden was named the 2A Texas Built Ford Tough Award winner for this past week. This award is given to one player across the 2A division. Proud of Jayden for the game he had vs. Carlisle and for the year he has had so far.

Middle school PRIDE Team members traveled to the Watkins-Logan Texas State Veteran's Home in Winona today to spread some smiles and do some trick-or-treating! There were smiles all around!

Share the excitement with these junior high students about winning their prize following a library lesson and a competitive quiz. This month, we continued exploring people of Hispanic origin who had an impact in Texas history, and we got an overview of some of the monstrous creatures from world mythology. Our winners are MiKayla Russell, Levi Honzel, Jacob Osburn, Bella Watson, Solomon Fairchild, Brenden Molock, Robert Sunderman, Jacob Martinez, and Sarah Fields. Congrats!!
These high school students won a competitive quiz following a library lesson on monsters in classical literature (Frankenstein) and in Greek mythology (the Minotaur): Jayden Fields, Levi Wisdom, Brody Brown, Dana Valentine, Caleb Cota, Ambry Jester, and Janice McPherson. Such bright young people we have!

Another amazing night for the Mustangs! Volleyball gets the 3-0 victory over Gary in their warmup game. They will begin their playoff run with a bi-district match against Shelbyville at Panola College on Tuesday at 7:30pm.
Mustang Football finished off the evening with a 38-14 win over Carlisle to remain unbeaten. They are now 9-0, and will travel to Tenaha next week to play for the district championship.

The Lady Mustangs will have a playoff warm up match at home tomorrow at 4:00 vs Gary.
The Lady Mustangs will play Shelbyville in the Bi-District round of the UIL Volleyball State Playoffs on Tuesday, October 31st. The game will be played at Panola College in Carthage, and the game time will be 7:30pm.
Come on out and support the Lady Mustangs as they look to advance to the next round.
