Parent & Community Alert
A staff member with a known medical condition experienced a medical episode this afternoon. Emergency services were called out of an abundance of caution, and the staff member is expected to make a full recovery.
This occurred just before student release, so please be patient as there may be some delay with student pick-up and dismissal. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

From classrooms to cafeterias, gyms to hallways, they work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep Overton ISD clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors. Their pride in our schools shines through in everything they do, and we couldn’t make it a Great Day to be a Mustang without them.
Please join us in thanking our custodial staff for the countless ways they serve our Mustang family each and every day!

Route 1 is running 20 minutes late this morning. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions please contact the Transportation Department at 903-834-3138.
To help ease afternoon congestion, Warren Street will now be one-way only from 3:30–4:15 p.m. This change, initiated by Overton PD, allows both lanes to move southbound during pickup, reducing the backup onto Hwy 135.
➡️ In the afternoons, traffic will also exit through the Henderson Street gate after buses depart. This keeps the Warren Street entrance clear for emergency vehicles if needed.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work with our local PD to keep traffic moving safely and smoothly! 💚🐎

During today’s Head Start/Pre-K field trip to Ecoland, one of our buses experienced a very minor parking-lot incident with a parked bus. There were no injuries, and only minimal cosmetic damage to our bus. Most students didn’t even notice anything happened.
Student safety is always our top priority. We’re sharing this update to keep our Mustang family fully informed.

Visitor Bus & Trailer Parking:
The area inside the Henderson front gate and in front of the Ag Shop on the secondary campus is reserved for visiting football, band, and cheer buses and trailers.
Home Fan Parking:
Home Fans are encouraged to park on the secondary campus - entering from 135 or in the PIT on the east end of the field. Parking along Henderson street and in overflow areas may also be used.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., one of our OISD employees had a fall on campus and sustained minor injuries. Out of caution, an ambulance was called, and she was transported for observation. We’re thankful to share that she is expected to be released later this afternoon.
