What an incredible accomplishment for our Overton ISD Band! Today, our students earned Sweepstakes honors for the THIRD consecutive year—a true testament to their hard work, discipline, and talent.
To achieve a Sweepstakes, a band must:
✅ Compete at the state level in marching
✅ Earn a Division I (Superior) rating in concert performance
✅ Earn a Division I (Superior) rating in sightreading
And our Mustangs did ALL of that—AGAIN!
This kind of sustained excellence doesn’t happen by accident. It reflects countless hours of practice, commitment, and pride in representing our school and community.
A huge congratulations to our outstanding directors, Preston and Randa Parker, whose leadership continues to elevate this program year after year. And to every student in the band—your dedication shows, and we couldn’t be more proud.
