The Overton Marching Mustangs continue to raise the bar for excellence. After advancing to the finals of the State Military Marching Band Championship, our band delivered a powerful and polished performance—earning a 4th place finish in the State of Texas.
Competing on the biggest stage for military-style bands, the Mustangs impressed judges and spectators alike with precision, discipline, and showmanship that reflects countless hours of hard work. Advancing to the final round is an achievement in itself, but finishing fourth overall in the state places Overton among the top military marching programs in Texas.
Band Director, Preston Parker praised the students for their dedication and grit:
“These students compete with heart. They’ve put in early mornings, late nights, and countless rehearsals to get to this level—and they earned every bit of this moment.”
Trip after trip, competition after competition, the Mustangs continue to build a legacy. This year marks yet another milestone in a growing tradition of excellence, and we couldn’t be more proud of our students, staff, and band family.
A special thank you goes out to:
Our incredible student musicians and drum majors
Directors Preston Parker and Randa Parker
Band boosters and parent volunteers
Families and community members who traveled, cheered, and supported from home
Your encouragement fuels their success.
Congratulations, Marching Mustangs—4th in the State!
Your hard work, pride, and Mustang spirit were on full display, and Overton ISD couldn’t be more proud.
It’s a great day to be a Mustang.
