Sarah Stuart - Board Member Bio Page

Sarah Stuart
Sarah Stuart is in her third year of service on the Overton ISD School Board, bringing energy, dedication, and a strong sense of purpose to her role. As both an Overton ISD alumna and the mother of two current OISD students, Sarah is deeply committed to the district’s success and its long-term impact on students and families.
Professionally, Sarah is a licensed cosmetologist and works as a hair stylist at The Hairitage. Her career began after earning her certification from Charles and Sue’s School of Hair Design, following earlier studies at Kilgore College and Parsons Community College, where she pursued physical therapy and played collegiate volleyball.
Sarah’s roots in Overton run deep—she was the middle child in a family of five, all graduates of Overton ISD. Her passion for serving the community has been evident through more than a decade of volunteer work, including 10 years with the Overton Youth Sports Association, several years on the OYSA Board, and leadership roles with the Overton Athletic Boosters as both Secretary and President. She has also served as a room mom at Overton Elementary for 7 years.
Her decision to join the school board was a natural extension of her desire to make a difference. “Being an OISD alumni and the mother of children who attend OISD,” she says, “I felt what better way to be a positive force for the betterment of our school when it directly affects my children—and being a Board member gives me that voice.”
As a board member, Sarah prioritizes transparency, proactive leadership, and real-world solutions. She is focused on improving every aspect of the district—from student outcomes and future readiness to financial health and community trust.
Outside her role on the board, Sarah finds joy in family life. She’s a self-proclaimed “family girl” who loves sports at every level—especially when it comes to supporting the Mustangs. Whether she’s cheering at a game or relaxing at the beach, her heart is always with her kids and her community.
