Pam Raney
Pam Raney brings nearly two decades of service and a wealth of financial and civic experience to the Overton ISD School Board. Now in her 18th year on the board, Pam continues to be a steadfast advocate for quality education, student success, and responsible district leadership.
A graduate of Pine Tree High School, Pam holds an Associate of Business Administration from Kilgore Junior College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Tyler. Her professional background spans a range of roles including Finance Director for the City of Overton, positions in banking, accounting, tax preparation, and as a rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.
Though retired, Pam remains highly active in both the school and wider community. She has been a dedicated member of the Rusk County Children’s Advocacy Center for 10 years and currently serves as its President—a role that reflects her deep care for the well-being of children and families. Additionally, Pam has served for the past 6 years as a member of the Legislative Advisory Council for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB), where she helps represent the voices and concerns of local districts at the state level.
Pam and her husband, Robert Raney, have been married for 36 years. Together they have a daughter, Kaylynn, a bonus daughter, Angela, as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who bring joy and inspiration to her life.
Her decision to join the school board stemmed from a genuine desire to give back to her community and help shape its future. Pam’s priorities as a board member include promoting a high-quality education for every student, ensuring safety for both staff and students, maintaining transparency and accountability, and supporting a strong, effective workforce within the district.
Outside of her civic work, Pam enjoys karaoke, crafting, and gardening. She also has a lifelong love of music and plays the piano—a skill she honed through ten years of lessons.
