Mary Leigh Dike brings over a decade of dedicated service to the Overton ISD School Board, with 13 years of experience advocating for students, families, and the community. A proud 2002 graduate of Overton High School, Mary Leigh has deep roots in the Overton community—her family has been part of it for over 80 years.

Currently working in Finance Administration for the School of EMS, Mary Leigh has a diverse professional background that includes eight years as a Business Manager for a local church, four years in the oilfield industry, and eight years serving in funeral administration and as a funeral attendant. Her extensive experience in business and administration has helped her bring a practical and solutions-oriented perspective to the board.

Mary Leigh and her high school sweetheart, now husband of nearly 25 years, have three wonderful sons who all attended Overton ISD, a daughter-in-law who is also an Overton graduate, and a grandson who is expected to carry on the family tradition. Her family is her greatest pride and joy.

Her passion for service extends far beyond the school board. Mary Leigh has been a Vice President of the Overton/New London Chamber of Commerce, earning the Citizen of the Year award and coordinating community events for four years. She has served on the Youth Sports Committee and, alongside her husband, was a foster parent for eight years.

Mary Leigh’s motivation to join the school board stemmed from a desire to support all students—particularly those seeking career and technical education paths. She has been a strong advocate for expanding programs that prepare students for real-world success, whether they choose college, a trade, or another career path.

As a board member, Mary Leigh’s priorities are clear: ensuring that every student receives a quality education, has access to meaningful opportunities and certifications, and learns in a safe and supportive environment.

When she’s not volunteering or attending school events, Mary Leigh enjoys spending time with her family camping, boating, fishing, and traveling.
