Haylee Finley
Haylee Finley is proud to be finishing her first year of service on the Overton ISD School Board. A 2007 graduate of Overton High School, Haylee’s passion for education, student success, and community involvement runs deep—especially as the mother of two daughters who are now fourth-generation Overton students.
Professionally, Haylee works for King Oilfield Services. Her career path has included time as a stay-at-home mom, five years as a realtor, and three years as a published author—experiences that have shaped her understanding of perseverance, communication, and creative problem-solving. She also studied English at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Haylee has been married for 15 years to her husband, Braydon, and together they are raising their daughters, Brylee and Harper, in the same close-knit community that helped shape her own upbringing. She is an active member of First Baptist Church of Overton, where she helps teach children’s Sunday School and leads the Welcome Committee. She also volunteers with the Overton Youth Sports Association and participates in school-related events whenever possible.
Her decision to serve on the school board was driven by a strong desire to contribute to student achievement and the overall excellence of the district. Her top priorities as a board member include ensuring that every student has the opportunity to become college, career, military, or life ready. She is committed to fostering an environment that encourages personal growth, goal-setting, and success for all students.
Outside of her board responsibilities, Haylee enjoys spending quality time with her family. Together they garden every summer and sell vegetables at the four-way downtown in Overton. Their shared hobbies include fishing, kayaking, sports, and making homemade blackberry jam. Haylee is also an avid reader and writer and makes a point to support student activities throughout the school year.
Favorite Scripture: "Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart." — Psalm 37:3-4
Personal Note: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve and always grateful to be a Mustang!”
