We will actively engage in learning activities to improve reading and writing skills.  Improving your reading and writing skills benefits you tremendously. One way that developing these skills contributes to your success is you sharpen your ability to think critically.  When you have the skills to think critically, you are able to construct your own informed opinions.  Another advantage to improving these skills for yourself is that you will improve your ability to communicate.
